So...what's happened in the last 20 months?
20 months ago - I think that's about the last time I was here. Hope that it's not 20 more. Juan, do you still take care of the updates?
Where have I been? I had another kid (Brandon, meet Daniel) and changed jobs twice. Brandon is three and a half now, Daniel is a year old. I drive a
decent ride these days. And I'm trying to fool myself into thinking I can sing. Still can't write lyrics to save my life though.
Miss you all.
All those years, I was hurting to feel something more than life.

Holy crap it's Don Carlos! Glad to hear about your expanding family. Two boys can be trouble-good trouble The new version of the boards have been quieter than the old boards. I think everyone is on the Facebook. The
Aleda boys haven't really been posting here too often. I'm waiting for the day that these boards are the way they used to be.

Well hellllooooo, DonCarolos! Congratulations on child no. 2! It's not just twice as hard as 1 kid, it's exponentially harder. Ahhh, sibling
dynamics...
I hope you are well, and yes, you've got to check us out on FB. Ben posts there often. and lots of us are over there except for Mr. Beers. You know Colin, too cool for his own self.

Weird. I'm a member of the Ghetto Crush Industries group on FB, and I'm not seeing any discussion threads. Am I missing something?
Having the two boys is definitely an interesting time. Though I can see the day, not too far off, where they'll be off together doing their own thing
and mom and dad will have a bit more time to tidy the house, work out, play music and all those other things we love to do when we're not busy being
parents.
All those years, I was hurting to feel something more than life.

Good to hear from you, Don!
I think since so many people are facebook friends with each other, we're always writing on each other's walls and posting random things on our own
profiles.

Jesus christ, I was just talking to Cory about how awesome these boards used to be and now we get this blast from the past! Congrats on the new child,
that's awesome news. To be honest this place has been pretty dead for the last , say, year and a half at least. I suppose there are probably a few
reasons for it...anyway I don't think that we should let facebook take it over, it's not the same... we can revive this place but like you said, we
just have to post!
Heaps of mad shit has happened for me over the last while... lived in Prague, moved back to Dublin, got a degree, moved to Barcelona...now about to
move back to Dublin for a new job, part of which will involve me moving to Uganda in July... so, movement has been key.
Any other veterans wanna come out of the woodwork while we're at it? Sailor are you out there?

Congrats Don.
Hi Terri, Melro, BFC, Lance, Belle and everyone else.
Beers and I have been very busy building a studio and writing and recording. And then rewriting and rerecording. And generally just enjoying having
a place to call are own where we can do anything we want anytime we want. I'm sure someday some of what we are doing will see the light.
Probably the first peep you値l hear from the old aleda camp is an album that Joe Bass and Slappa have written. It's a super sick sorta old school
all metal album- and as soon as I知 done with the drum parts they値l begin tracking it in our small but mighty studio. At least that's the plan.
Beers and I seem to be moving in a different direction style wise. If Joe and Dave have gone Pantera, Col and I have gone Peter Gabriel. I suspect
that once both projects are done if you played them at the same time it might sound a little like aleda. Or not.
Hope everyone is well. I've poked around the boards and would like to add my voice to the growing clamoring for a Saturnize update. I'll keep
posted for any news and all the new goodies from the GHI folks.
Oh, and I quit smoking and started training for this crazy race up a mountain called the Warrior Dash. I've gotten really into running and being
generally a thousand times healthier than I was back in the good old GCI board days you guys were talking about. Those times were definitely fine as
hell. But I think I've grown up quite a bit since then, as I知 sure you all have too. Though I do still text dick jokes to Jay on occasion, so it's
all a matter of perspective I guess.
Best,
Sailor

Sailor! Glad to hear that you're alive. Congrats on quitting smoking and taking up running. I've taken up running too and it's addicting esp.
when marathons are involved. Congrats on getting your own studio built. I can only imagine how massive of a task that could be and how nice it is to
have creative control at every step of the music making.

I was just gonna create a topic like this.
It's been way too long.
I've just been working and slowly working at getting a ring on my girls finger.(Awwwww how cute) Also trying to help her out getting a job in the
ballet field. And despite popular belief Ballet is not a bear on a motorcycle, though i wish it was at times.
It looks like everyone is in good fortune and that is fantastic. Just by seeing all your facebook updates I feel a bit connected while I still never
come on the boards. But that will change a bit.
I miss everyone and the promise of a new Vato album is getting me giddy.
Hello to all new and old members, the OTP will be around more.

I haven't been on here in three years but the boards came to mind and I found this thread rather appropriate to randomly chime in.
I too am happy to see the great changes going on in all of your lives. I love how the board is still connected in some form on facebook. I've missed
it here!

I've been busy molding the minds of inner-city kids in North Carolina, which is crazy when I think back on the fact that I started posting here as a
freshman in college.

whats up folks? been a looooong minute. i do check this place out every now and again...mainly to see if anyone has new stuff out.
i'm in the same boat as Don as far as kids go...3 1/2 year old son, Kieran...and an 18 month old baby girl, Madilyn. Having a son is great of course
but having a daughter is something I can't explain. She's definitely daddy's girl.
So that's that. Just been focused on my family, my art/job. And yeah, like sailor said, i'm older. i like it. Life is good.
I see alot of familiar names...glad to hear everyone is well. so hello to everyone...
what up sailboat!

will test your patience in ways you can't explain.
