i've been listening to alot of jack johnson mainly because ive learned a few of his songs to play for my kindergartners. i changed the words to make
the songs about them though. that album he made for the curious george movie was helpful considering those songs were all directed towards
chidren. |
i can't help myself... but: AW! |
agreed! awwww! who sings incey wincey spider when you can sing jack johnson to your kids - maybe they will come out better for it?
<3 the curious george soundtrack. the cutest monkey ever. |
you know the crazy thing is my students are 95% latino and are all learning english as a second language. so my lack of spanish and their lack of
english has been a learning block on both sides but funny when i put the soundtrack on during homework time, they know al the words to upside down and
the 3 rs.

If you can find it, Japandroids album Post-Nothing is pretty hot.
Been listening to it quite a lot this past week.
Since I've been gone from the boards my iPod magically started working after 6 months of it being dead. How did this happen? my father spilled a diet
coke on it.
So I'm overloaded with music i thought I lost. It feels good, real good.

I just saw Soulive last night. AMAZING show! They had a horn section, did some James Brown, Earth Wind And Fire covers and Nigel Hall sang for a few
songs. A 2 and a half hour show and people were dancing the whole time.
They're playing tonight in LA, so those of you down there should go.

So my buddies have been getting me into a few bands... I don't know if they make me a "scene kid" now but if so, I'm not sure I care because these
bands are sick as hell. The first is CLOSURE IN MOSCOW. Listen to the song "Vangaurd". The first 3-4 seconds are definitely a way to get some dang
attention from the listener. The second band is ENVY ON THE COAST... I likuh duh juice. These two bands are similar in sound but it really fits my
search for more frenetic and crazy rock songs.
I've been meaning to listen Ben Harper and Relentless7. Juan, I think we may have chatted it up about this album but what's your rating?

Currently on a massive nostalgia trip (as much as you can at my age). Whilst I'd like to pretend I was a super cool 10 year old... in 1994 I was
listening to such hits as 'The Sign' by Ace of Base. The fact that I'm listening to that again right now makes me even sadder than I ever thought
possible. Oh the shame

If some of the oldies remember a few years back, I was the resident Brand New nerd, pushing the hell out of "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside
Me." They finally have a new album out called "Daisy", and you should go check it out. Nothing compare to their previous effort, but chances are
it's still better than what you're listening to.

Music? Who needs music?!
I do, apparently.
Lately I've been blasting my ears out with Supergrub, alongside whatever plays on the local rock station. So, basically, a lot of Alice In Chains and
Pearl Jam. It's funny how all these older bands are coming up with wonderful new albums, especially Alice in Chains. Their new singer's voice is
phenomenal for the group! They got one hell of a lucky draw, there.

I haven't heard any of AIC's new stuff. Not sure why because some of my most listened to tracks are by those guys. I've heard the dude sing and
I'm interested to hear what they come up with but I'm in no rush.

My friends keep talking about the new Yeasayer album, and thanks to José and
armyofChris, I can say, ::scoff:: "I've liked them since 2008..."
Their new joint is really good though.

Hey Jay...I remember you - do you remember me? Does anyone remember me? Is anybody here?
I actually ended up getting pretty into that Brand New album, it grabbed me right away and I'm still trying to pry myself away from it - it depresses
me if I listen to it too much. I hear that Daisy is darker, which scares the piss out of me.
In my time away, I also got obsessive about Silverchair, and frankly, anything Daniel Johns has ever written. Across the Great Divide is a dang fine
live CD/DVD. And the Young Modern B-sides and outtakes are some of the best tunes I've ever heard.
Listening to This Infernal Machine right now - LePetomane, I really like it!
I've been going to www.antiquiet.com lately to check out new music. They just wrote up a
little feature about Turin Brakes and I really liked the streaming tunes of theirs that were posted. IMO, a top-notch music site.
All those years, I was hurting to feel something more than life.
